How to create a link trigger inside of Kit

There’s a simple way inside Kit to allow leads to opt out of hearing about your product but to still remain on your email list.

Here is a video walkthrough of the process

Below is a written walkthrough of the process:

Create the Rule

  1. Go to your Kit account and click “automate”
  2. Select “rules”

  1. Click “new rule”
  2. In the trigger section, name your link trigger
  3. Choose what URL you want to send them to once they click it - you can create a custom thank you page on your website if you’d like
  4. In the action section, choose “add tag”
  5. Choose your “No PRODUCT” tag if you already have one, or create one
  6. Click “save” for the rule

Apply link trigger inside sales emails

  1. Go to the Double Your Sales email sequence for your product
  2. In the second email, “diagnose the problem,” add a sentence at the top like this: Before we get into this, just click this link if you don’t want to hear any more about PRODUCT.
  3. Highlight the “just click this link” and click on the link icon in the menu bar of the email
  4. Click the link trigger icon next to the “apply” and select your link trigger (based on how you named the rule).

  1. Click “apply”
  2. You’ll now see that the “just click this link” is hyperlinked with the trigger
  3. Do this process at the top or under the PS for as many of the sales emails as you’d like.

Opt anyone with the link trigger tag out of receiving the sales emails

  1. Inside the email sequence, go to “settings”

  1. Scroll to “subscribers” (exclude subscribers from this sequence)
  2. Click on the “tags” tab

  1. Choose the tag you created for the link trigger, “no PRODUCT”
